Pistol 102

Pistol 102 is a 4 hour, classroom only, discussion, demonstration, and application course specifically designed to teach the basics of pistol safety, operation, manipulation, and shooting fundamentals to adults or responsible teenagers, who have none or very little experience in a small class setting.

Please Note: this class is divided into age groups- example booking: Pistol 102 Age 13-16 (limited to 4 students) - Pistol 102 Age 16-20 (limited to 6 students) - Pistol 102 Age 20 and up (limited to 10 students)

Objectives:

1. Firearms Safety

1. 1. 1. 1. Students will thoroughly understand and explain a safe direction

         2. Students will thoroughly understand and the safe condition of a pistol/ revolver

         3. Students will learn and demonstrate proper and safe gun handling skills

2. Students will learn the basic parts of a semi-auto pistol and how it operates

1. Able to list the name of the parts on a blank diagram

2. Able to safely and confidently load and clear a semi-auto pistol and a revolver

3. Fundamentals of shooting

   1. 1. Students will learn, explain and demonstrate the fundamentals of marksmanship

      2. Students will learn, explain and demonstrate the cycle of shooting

4. 3 Basic Pistol Positions

   1. 1.  Understand the purpose of the handclap position and effectively demonstrate and fire from it

      2. Understand the purpose of the low-ready position and effectively demonstrate and fire from it

      3. Understand the purpose of the high-ready position and effectively demonstrate and fire from it

5. Stand and shoot a semi-auto pistol from point shoulder (air operated laser fire)

6. Intro to Ballistics 

   1. 1. Students will be able to explain what will stop a bullet and what a bullet will penetrate
