Pistol 101 is a 4 hour, classroom only, discussion and demonstration course specifically designed to help a new gun buyer/user navigate through firearms industry terminology, and through the major differences in semiauto pistols and their accessories with the focus on what to carry and why.
We take the time to explain and guide you in choosing
What pistol is best for your purpose- full-size, compact, sub-compact, or micro
Are you a runner or hunter?
What is grip angle and does it matter?
Should you choose a SAO, DAO or SA/DA pistol- Do you know what that means when choosing a pistol?
Discussing the manual of arms (how to manipulate the pistol- some are easier than others).
What sights should you choose and why? Fiber Optic, adjustable, tritium, painted or all black, an optic, etc...? We discuss the pluses and minuses of each.
Red-dot optics- we discuss the sea of options and what will work best for you.
Do you need an external safety? Is your pistol safe without it?
What is the ideal pistol made of? Polymer, Steel, or Aluminum? How does the frame material affect the shooting experience?
